Demystifying Artificial Intelligence (AI): Part II
Event Details
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly becoming an integral part of our daily lives, transforming how we find, create, and consume information. In this two-part series, library technology specialist Heather Lubchansky explores the inner workings of AI, its practical applications, and its limitations.
March 24: Part I – The Basics & Use Cases
Part one will define AI, cover the history of AI development, and discuss applications and uses of AI in various fields. Examples of AI created content will be shown, and the impact of AI on the environment will be discussed.
March 31: Part II – Tools, Tips, and Ethics
Part two will show how AI content is made by showcasing some of the popular AI tools (for text, image, video, and music creation) and attendees will learn how to identify content created using AI. Copyright infringements and job loss related to AI use will also be discussed.
About the speaker: Heather Lubchansky works at a public library system in northern New Jersey where she specializes in helping both the staff and the community with technology assistance. Before working in a public library, Heather worked as a high school science teacher and as a resource conservationist with the USDA. When she’s not helping people become better digital navigators, Heather enjoys spending time outdoors, in her garden, and with her wonderful family.
