Makers Day
Event Details
Join us for our annual New Jersey Makers Day event at the Metuchen Public Library! Each year, we have a blast celebrating STEM and Making culture in the library. It’s a great time to check out our Makerspace and our 3D printer, and to learn new things! Email Jules at jrichards@metuchenlibrary.org with any questions. All ages welcome to participate.
Our Makers Day Events this year:
Future Filmmakers 30-Second Film Challenge (Makerspace): This year’s special event gives you the chance to step into the role of director, cameraperson, or actor! Storyboard, film, and edit within a timed period, using the theme “The Loudest Challenge”. Enter your completed film into the Future Filmmakers Festival, to be held in August.
STEM Stations (Upstairs Community Room): Self-guided and volunteer-led challenges and activities.
NJ Board Game Designers (Upstairs Community Room): Members will showcase games they designed and created.
Coloring Pages and Lego Challenges (Children’s Room)
3D Printer Display (Lobby): Learn about how our 3D printer works and what you can create.
Friends of the Library Sale (Lobby): Board games, puzzles, and other non-digital media will be for sale.
Accessibility: Our library is committed to inclusivity and accessibility. Our building is wheelchair-accessible with a modern elevator and accessible restrooms. We’ve installed hearing loops in our Community Room, and we offer T-coil receiver/headphone kits for in-library use by those with hearing loss. If you need specific accommodations, such as sign language interpretation, for any of our services, events, or activities, whether on-site or online, please reach out to us at (732) 632-8526 or email info@metuchenlibrary.org. We’re here to ensure everyone can fully enjoy their library experience.
