In celebration of Black History Month, the library will present an interactive music concert and lecture exploring the vibrant sounds of Mardi Gras in New Orleans. Discover the musical traditions of New Orleans and their influence on popular music worldwide!

All are welcome! Registration is encouraged.

Short bio of the presenter: Patrick Kerssen is a pianist and bandleader based in Bethlehem PA, averaging over 200 performances each year throughout the mid-Atlantic region. He has performed at major venues and jazz clubs such as City Winery Philadelphia, Miller Symphony Hall, Mauch Chunk Opera House, Blu Jazz+, Con Alma, the Deer Head Inn, Sellersville Theater, Shanghai Jazz, the COTA Jazz Festival, and more. Collectively, the members of his trio have played thousands of gigs all around the country, including their first tour in 2023 and dozens of educational concert/lecture performances at libraries and art centers throughout PA, NJ, and OH.
