Designated by UNESCO as part of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, reggae is one of the most widely listened-to genres of music around the world. In honor of International Reggae Day, we will watch The Harder They Come (1972, R, 1h 43m) as a Cinemusic pick. “Wishing to become a successful reggae singer, a young Jamaican man finds himself tied to corrupt record producers and drug pushers” in this film credited with making reggae music a global phenomenon (IMDb).
