Join us this February for a special film screening in celebration of Black History Month! The library will screen Ella Fitzgerald: Live in ’57 & ’63 (B&W, 56 mins). This DVD showcases The First Lady of Song in two unforgettable performances. The first, filmed in Belgium in 1957, captures the earliest known complete concert of Ella Fitzgerald, performing with jazz legends Ray Brown, Herb Ellis, Jo Jones, and Oscar Peterson. The second, recorded in Sweden in 1963, features an intimate in-studio performance with Ella accompanied by a quartet, including pianist Tommy Flanagan.
No registration is required. This program is made possible by the generous support of the Friends of the Metuchen Library.
