Announcement of New Library Director

Rebecca FrancoMartin

The Board of Trustees of the Metuchen Public Library is pleased to announce the appointment of Rebecca FrancoMartin as the new Library Director, starting July 29, 2024.

As a results-oriented, experienced leader, Rebecca has a passion for strategy, organizational effectiveness, and community engagement. She joins us from People & Stories/Gente y Cuentos! in Princeton, NJ, where she served as the Executive Director overseeing budget & operations, grants, and fundraising. Previously, as Director of the Trenton Free Public Library, she had a transformative tenure marked by capital improvements, substantial grant acquisitions, technological advancements, and fostered inclusivity. Her earlier leadership roles at the New York Public Library focused on program expansion, improved patron satisfaction, and implementation of policies that boosted library revenue and service delivery.

Rebecca holds a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from Drexel University iSchool and a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science from Rutgers University. Outside of work she served on the Executive Board for the Brookdale Center for World War II Studies and currently volunteers with Tha Block and Trenton Music Experience in Trenton, embodying a commitment to community enrichment. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, and relaxing on the beach with a great book.

Please join us in welcoming Rebecca to the Metuchen Public Library and community!
