  • Skills Building and Test Prep gives you the opportunity to take a quiz then connect directly with a live tutor to review topics and questions covered in the quiz.
  • Language Lab connects you with a live tutor for help with your foreign language class.
  • Writing Lab: Submit papers at any time through the Writing Lab for detailed feedback.
  • Send Question Center provides help at any time without connecting with a live tutor.  The Send Question Center is for non-writing assignments such as math or science.
  • Meet and Brainwave provides tools for you to work independently and form your own online study group.
  • Adult Learning Center is the adult learners’ version where you can access GED prep, U.S citizenship test prep, resume assistance, Microsoft Office support, and Career Resources.

  • Live Interview Coaching from trained job coaches to brush up on interview techniques or get live online interview practice.  24/7 access to interview tips and career resources is also available.
  • Resume Lab: Submit your resume and a job coach will send it back within 24 hours with detailed feedback and suggestions for improvement. Download resume templates, or browse resources for producing better resumes.
  • Career Resources: Access to a library of job resources. Job coaches can help you strategically target jobs best suited to your interests and qualifications.
  • Adult Learning Center provides foundational, career-enhancing skills to job seekers, plus offers test preparation (including the GED and the USCIS citizenship test) and a unique academic skills center featuring live, online tutors.

  • Ten (10) car practice tests

  • Three (3) online driver’s manuals (car, motorcycle, CDL)
  • An FAQ section with detailed answers to 100+ DMV-related questions

Note on accessibility: The new ‘Read Aloud’ toolbar (found in the footer of every page) includes tools that will allow users to hear selections read aloud, make them into MP3s, translate pages into other languages, magnify text, and mask sections of the screen for greater visibility. UNIVERSAL CLASS offers over 500 online continuing education courses taught by real instructors with 24/7 access via the internet. Video-based courses include arts and photography, business, career training, crafts & hobbies, how-to, office skills, pet and animal care, self-help, teacher tools, and many more! Continuing Education Units (CEU) are available on selected courses. Enter your Metuchen Library Card No. to create an account. Once the account is set up, you may log in with username and password. You can enroll in up to five courses at a time and have six months to finish each course. . These non-credit courses are provided for your own personal enrichment. They are not intended to be a substitute for any state, government, licensing or educational requirements.
