Metuchen Public Library

The Library is a community resource providing information to the public. The Library provides community access to information and welcomes notices of civic, cultural, or educational activities by community groups.

Literature will be accepted for distribution and fliers for posting on bulletin boards by the Library within the guidelines of this policy and upon approval of the Library Director. The acceptance of materials does not imply an endorsement of the contents by the Borough of Metuchen, the Library or the Library’s Board of Trustees.

Conditions: 

• The Library has the final decision on the content and display of any All items must be approved before posting or distribution.
• Non-profit groups and governmental agencies may request to display announcements of activities which are not sectarian or of a partisan political nature.
• No announcements of items for sale or services provided by individuals or businesses will be accepted except for town wide events and events organized by the Metuchen Area Chamber of Commerce.
• The library reserves the right to remove any items due to space
• No displays or distributions are allowed which create noise or which disturb the normal affairs of the Library.
• No responsibility is assumed for any materials displayed or
• The organization or individual providing materials for distribution or display agrees to indemnify the Library and/or the Borough of Metuchen and hold the same harmless against any and all claims, demands, damages, costs and expenses, including reasonable attorney’s fees for the defense of such claims, arising out of such displays.
