Artist. Educator. Environmentalist. Metuchen local Joseph Castronova can proudly claim this trifecta of titles. With a BFA in sculpture and an MFA in painting from the School of Visual Arts, Joseph seamlessly shifts between 2D and 3D in his work. Included in his many credits and awards, Joseph is a proud recipient of the Weissglass Purchase Prize at the Museum of Arts and Sciences in New York. In recent years, Joseph has participated in many community art projects including Windows of Understanding, the Middlesex Greenway Artcycle and Residency at First Presbyterian Church of Metuchen. The Gallery at the Metuchen Library, in conjunction with Friends of Metuchen Arts, is thrilled to be part of Joseph’s “Local Eco” project on display August 30 – October 29.
